After hot-dross separation, the cooling drum rapidly cools the residual dross in a controlled, enclosed rotation — preventing continued thermiting (metal loss through burning) and preparing the material for ball milling and screening. Enclosed cooling also contains dust for collection rather than releasing it into the workshop.
Benefits:
- Stops thermite losses — more metal survives to the recovery stage
- Enclosed design contains dust and fumes for extraction
- Continuous throughput matched to separator output
